By tradition, the Catholic Church dedicates each month of the year to a certain devotion. In July, it is the Precious Blood of Jesus. The Precious Blood, like the Sacred Heart of Jesus, has long been venerated for its role in our redemption.

Margaret serves in the Food Pantry, Adopt-A-Family Christmas gifts for the needy and the Spread Catechism program for the Developmentally Disabled and counts collections at St. Joseph. David is a valuable member of the Financial Committee and the School Board where his finance knowledge is appreciated. They are both dedicated to the fundraising activities of Sparkle for IC School and the annual parish fundraisers at IC and St. Joseph. That’s not all! Margaret is active in three major events for the Juvenile Diabetes Association annually and finds time to attend Fr. Pat’s Tuesday evening Scripture Study. David teases Margaret about trying to get an “A” in the class.
Margaret is always bubbly and cheerful and takes an active interest in the parishioners of both churches. She always remembers to inquire about other’s health, despite having had serious health challenges of her own. She seems to thrive on being active and involved.
Expect to see their names in the bulletin in the future as Margaret and David are actively involved with Fr. Pat and Tom Galvin in the Stewardship Program. They certainly are a couple you should know. David & Margaret Nick
The faces of this unassuming couple are seen frequently at both of our faith communities. You have seen the back of Margaret’s blond bob at 8:00 am daily mass at St. Joseph Church while her husband, David, is off to work as a banker. They both may be at either the 9:30 am Sunday mass at IC or the 5:00 pm Saturday mass.
Margaret and David Nick volunteer and work on many committees, sometimes separately and at other times together.

Pope Benedict XVI has declared a “Year for Priests” beginning with the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus on June 19, 2009. The year will conclude in Rome with an international gathering of priests with the Holy Father on June 19, 2010.
With the announcement of this Year for Priests, the Pope has declared St. John Vianney the Universal Patron of Priests on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the death of the Curé d’Ars.
Please pray for our priests that they might always be faithful to their sacred calling.
